4 Tasks of Sewer Installation

Installing a Sewer System Efficiently and Effectively!

Installing a sewer system is no easy task, but with proper planning and attention to detail, you can avoid many problems.

In this article, our team of sewer installation experts will show you how we do it efficiently and effectively.

Choose the best location.

First, you need to ensure that you choose the best location for your sewer systems. Make sure that it is away from structures such as driveways, sidings, and patios, as debris from tree roots and fallen branches can easily be flushed into your plumbing. It’s a good idea to dig a trench for the sewer pipe at least four inches deeper than the soil’s original depth in two or three different locations around your property.

Check the sewer level along the trench.

Using a soil auger and camera, check the soil level along the trench. If it is not as deep as the original depth of the trench, you will need to take a second pass and remove any dirt that is just above the original surface. After putting in the sewer pipe, pack soil around the pipe to a minimum of four inches in all directions. You can also use a soil vibrator and pack the soil around the pipe.

Dig a trench that is at least twice as long as the size of your sewer pipe.

If your sewer pipes are under a concrete slab, you will have to dig a trench that is twice as wide. Make this trench as deep as the original trench. If you are installing a new sewer system, you will have to dig the trench using a backhoe. If you are installing a sewer system that is replacing an old and worn-out one, you will have to dig the trench before you install the sewer pipe.

Help reduce odor and water absorption.

Use a sewer trench fill material that will help to reduce odor and water absorption. When you have finished, pack the trench using a rototiller, if you have one. If you don’t, you will have to pack the trench manually using a wheelbarrow. You want to pack the entire trench, including overhead branches and other debris that are within reach.
